The question that changed my Life: What can you do today that you were not capable of a year ago?
Which activities make you lose track of time? Are they productive or not?
When you start to learn swimming and you are not moving forward at all. Most don’t realize that initially that they are not moving forward. It’s not their mistake. They are involved in the managing the water, hand movement and leg movements.
So is our life we are so much engrossed in our daily routine that we don’t realize. We are fully engrossed in activity all the time. Our mind is trained to be hard-working. Ever since I was trolled into multi tasking, work, personal, students, and entrepreneurs.
Most Important Things First
I retrospect daily only to realize that I have ended up doing things which are not crucial. Believe you me the most important and productive things in life will require higher efforts.
We invite our new enemy here which is procrastination. Procrastination is the enemy of productivity. Productivity is often achieved going out of your comfort level and extra effort we often procrastinate.
Now to over come this be a go setter. Start briskly. I ensure that the most important productivity aspects are treated as tasks. Accomplish the biggest task first when you are highly motivated. Leave the rest to the last. The efforts you have put to accomplish the most important task when you are highly motivated will keep you going until the end since the most important task is already accomplished.
Replace your to-do list with time scheduling with tasks. Our to-do lists are over cluttered. Most often lists and never accomplished.
Best time to prepare a time schedule is at the end of day introspection. You only have to replace your activity with productivity. Most to-do lists are very long and unbelievable and unorganized. The bigger the list more the activity more focused the to-do list more is the productivity.
Productive Things for Productive Time
Productive Time from early risers to-night owl performers have their time of high productivity.
First, identify your highly productive time. Being highly efficient and effective is a simple formula to do highly vital tasks in your most productive time you would experience magnified performance.
Once you experience magnified performance it would become very addictive. Once this becomes a habit over a period of time even small productivity will have a cascading effect.
Power of Consistent and Incremental Improvements
The most important point must not be missed.
Power of Consistent and Incremental Improvements are underrated. Kaizen originally Japanese management concept for incremental (gradual, continuous). It’s proven system followed the world over for business development. This can definitely be applied to personal productivity.
The classic example for this is going to gym. It’s an over whelming experience for the first day. You would like to achieve everything on the first day by doing the maximum exercise. Statistics are very evident in saying that maximum new memberships come during the period of the new year. 2nd week of the year is the busiest time of the whole year because of new year resolutions.
80% of the new year resolution crowd drop off in the third week. Performance barrier can be increased if the Kaizen is applied aptly. Gradually and Consistently.
If you want to write 50 books in the next ten years, that’s 1,500 words a day.
